Roger Van S started using these "safety pin" buckles in 1954, and they proved very popular! The buckle was made by North and Judd. This is one of the earlier ones, later ones they made with switchable straps.
Saddle brown leather cowhide belt with brass or brass plated buckle (North & Judd tends to make solid brass hardware so I think it is solid brass). The leather has minor dings and scratches, light surface cracking due to age - could use a conditioning
Belt measures 24”-28” with room to make more holes
